During the two months, I have learned many advanced professional technologies, including hepatobiliary surgery, pancreas surgery, gastrointestinal surgery and oncology surgery. Laparoscopic Whipple procedure and Robotic surgery is the most advanced technology in modern times. Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) is the special technology in Baptist Medical Center. They have performed more than 1300 operations since 1986. Dr.Levine, the director of the cancer center, said the median overall survival was 29.9 months, with a five-year survival of 32.5 percent. Patients with advanced abdominal cancer should no longer be approached with therapeutic nihilism; long-term survival is clearly possible for selected patients treated with HIPEC. Also, I have learned many advanced management concepts, especially in the comprehensive treatment of tumor and carcinoma, for example the multidisciplinary therapy of tumor. Enhance Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) in Baptist Medical Center is performed very well, almost every patients in operating time wearing a warming blanket and muscles squeeze pump. They all have good professional dedication, whether he or she is professor or resident. I have learned many advanced professional technology and management concepts in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. So here I am very thankful to my hospital, giving me such a good chance to improve myself, and my thanks also go to Dr. Perry Shen who teaches and helps me a lot.
