Owing to the co-efforts of generation by generation through four decades, the Department of Dermatology & STD now owns one ward, one laser beauty shop, one treatment room and one allergen test laboratory. It has become the center of diagnosis and treatment in the knotty cases of dermatosis. It is currently staffed with 19 doctors and 12 nurses, among whom there are 5 professors, 4 associate professors. 3 members of its staff have achieved doctoral degrees, 14 have achieved master&＃39;s degrees, and 5 doctors have received overseas clinical training. The academic leader of the department serves as the committee member of Dermatology Society Affiliated to the Chinese Physicians’ Association, the member of the standing committee of Dermatology Society Affiliated to Shandong Medical Association, the Vice chairman of English-Chinese Dictionary in Dermatology. The Department of Dermatology & STD has further strengthened its competitiveness through the establishment of subspecialties: autoimmune disorders group, allergic skin diseases group, skin pathology group, infectious skin diseases group, pigmented skin diseases group and skin beauty group. Its annual outpatient visits amount has reached more than 80,000. It is one of the earliest medical institutions conducting autoimmune study in Shandong. The allergen test laboratory is equipped with advanced allergen testing equipment including allergen detection technology, and is able to conduct systematic desensitization therapy. The laser beauty shop has advanced laser beauty equipment as intense pulsed laser and ND: YAG. The treatment room is equipped with the Ultraviolet Ray Treatment Meter, LHH-GaAIAsLASER and Derma308 Excimer Skin Therapeutic System. We have always attached great importance to research.
